 Occupational Therapy’s Role in Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) and Non-Epileptic Seizures (NES)

Date: Wednesday January 21, 2026

Location: Hasbro Pediatric Clinic…Hasbro outpatient conference room for the talk.  The address is 765 Allens Avenue, Providence on the 2nd floor.

In person meeting strongly encouraged; virtual option also available

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Presenter: Katrina Borges, MS, OTR/L, CLC and Kayla Petitpas, MS, OTR/L, CLC

Objectives:
1: Describe the clinical features of FND and NES as they relate to occupational performance and participation;
2: Describe the role of occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and interdisciplinary care for patients with FND and NES;
3: Identify two to three treatment frameworks utilized for patients with FND and NES;
4: Identify two to three treatment techniques to improve the return to previous level of independence. 

We are strongly encouraging in-person pediatric meetings that offer a hands-on component as this one does. We will also have a virtual offering but apologize because the camera/video option will not be of the highest quality, but we wish to be as inclusive as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
