This workshop will introduce a vision for entrepreneurship in the field of occupational therapy, focusing on community-based services for pediatric clients utilizing sensory integration approaches and mealtime therapy.

Lori Goodrich, the founder of Thrive Together Occupational Therapy, has specializations in sensory integration and neurodevelopmental treatment, as well as extensive experience with eating and mealtime approaches. Lori co-developed The FOCUS Program for Eating and Mealtime Success, an integrated approach to supporting individuals with eating, feeding and mealtime needs. Currently, Lori provides community-based therapeutic services in the Boston area through her private practice Thrive Together Occupational Therapy LLC. She continues to focus on providing educational opportunities including workshops, courses and mentoring within her professional community
Objectives: This workshop will introduce a vision for entrepreneurship in the field of occupational therapy, focusing on community-based services for pediatric clients utilizing sensory integration approaches and mealtime therapy. Through practical examples, the workshop will highlight the benefit of community-based services, as well as introduce therapeutic activities and their outcomes. Additionally, an introduction to the entrepreneurial experience will serve as a framework for participants to consider their own professional interests and how they can leverage them to address community needs. The session will be interactive, with ample time for discussion and questions, ensuring participants leave with valuable insights and inspiration for their own endeavors.
Participants will:
1. Gain insight into the application and benefits of sensory integration intervention in community settings.
2. Gain insight into the application and benefits of eating & mealtime intervention in community settings.
3. Explore entrepreneurship opportunities in occupational therapy that address client, community, and practitioner needs.
